2 "Another World Is Possible" is the slogan of the World Social Forum, which has been meeting annually since 2001 to explore alternatives to neoliberal globalisation (Fisher and Ponniah 2015).Susan George, a political scientist and activist involved with the World Social Forum from its earliest beginnings, has authored several eponymous or near-eponymous publications, in one of which she explicitly juxtaposes the slogan with the Thatcherite dictum: "People no longer believe that the unjust world order is inevitable. To Margaret Thatcher's TINA -'There is no alternative'-they are replying that there are thousands of them. Now it's up to us all, especially to Americans, to prove that, as we say in ATTAC, 'Another world is possible.'And urgent" (George 2002).John Storey frames the remit of radical utopianism in terms of superseding "the capitalist dogma There Is No Alternative" with "the enabling slogan Another World Is Possible" (2019, xi-xii).3 "A Better World is Possible" is used as (part of) the subtitle of the report of the International Forum on Globalization, published in 2004, as well as of a 2008 edited collection on the World Social Forum (International Forum on Globalization 2004; Blau and Karides 2008).Nevertheless, it is rarely used as a slogan.
