Identifies breakup channels in 10B+197Au system, suggesting insights into nuclear dynamics.
We report the identification of direct and transfer-induced breakup channels in the 10 B+ 197 Au system at near-barrier energies based on exclusive fragment-coincidence detection. Kinematical reconstruction of two fragments, either 6 Li+ α or 7 Li+ α , enables the identification of the excited states from which 10 B or the one-neutron pickup ejectile 11 B breaks up. Moreover, the analysis of triple coincidences α + α +p reveals the cluster-structured excited states through which the breakup of the unbound one-neutron stripping ejectile 9 B occurs: either 8 Be+p or α + 5 Li. Efficiency-corrected breakup cross sections individually obtained for each state show that the former is the main breakup mechanism in this energy regime. These exclusive measurements highlight the interplay between nuclear structure and reaction dynamics.
