The COVID-19 pandemic promoted new ways of looking at work and changed its importance in worker's lives. Themes like the Great Resignation make us question what the work centrality is. Our research aimed to know workers' beliefs regarding the degree of importance that work has in their lives after the COVID-19 pandemic in Puerto Rico. We carried out qualitative research using a phenomenological design and interviewed six workers (23-65 years old). The findings suggest a change in the experiences about work centrality, where participants placed work in second or third place. Work was still important, but there were other things in people's lives. The implications for organizations aim to explore in depth the value system of their personnel to understand the consequences of the centrality of work on organizational commitment.
