This paper investigates the nanoelectromechanical switch made of a suspended single wall nanotube over a ground plane. Nonlinear continuous theory is simulated for electrostatic and van der Waals forces between the nanotube and the ground plane, which is modeled by a nonlinear beam. The governing equation of nanotube has been solved using optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM) in order to obtain the deflection of the nanotube. Also, the results have been compared with those of numerical method. The comparison shows an excellent agreement.
