A 162-m^2 sr scintillation detector located 3200 m underground was used to look for high-energy fragments from baryon-nonconserving nucleon decay. A new lower limit on the half-life of the nucleon from 210^28 to 810^29 years, depending on the assumed decay mode, is established.
Gurr et al. (Sun,) studied this question.
