Efficient white light emission from an OLED has been achieved by using only a single emissive dopant, which eliminates differential aging, a problem that occurs in multi-doped devices. The photostability of these phosphorescent dopants (see Figure for a chemical structure of one of the used dopants) is typically quite high, and device failure generally occurs through charged, rather than excitonic states (see also cover).
