Abstract

This book comprises of contributions from leading and emerging scholars who consider advertising, promotional culture and consumer culture from a range of disciplinary perspectives. The eight sections cover historical, political economy and global perspectives on advertising and promotional culture more broadly, as well as addressing audiences, identities, social institutions, everyday life and the environment. The purpose of the volume is to better understand how advertising and promotional culture shapes our lives and this may contribute to more effective and responsible campaigns.
