Algorithmic study demonstrates effective space-frequency transmit sequence optimization for dual-function radar-communications, suggesting enhanced multi-user data capacity alongside target tracking.
In this paper, we aim at designing space-frequency transmit waveforms for dual-function radcom system which inspects multiple user communication and radar beampattern. The figure of merit considers two formulations for joint resource allocation, including the weighted achieved communication capacity for multiple users and the squared error between the designed and desired radar beampatterns under space-frequency and power constraints. To solve the developed nonconvex framework, we derive an iterative procedure with double minorization-maximization framework with feasible point pursuit design (DMMFPP). In particular, the proposed technique provides a monotonic objective improvement and ensures convergence to a stationary point. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the space-frequency scheme.
