Does left bundle pacing improve symptoms and conduction in a pediatric patient with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and life-threatening conduction block?
Left bundle pacing is a feasible and effective physiological pacing strategy for managing life-threatening conduction blocks in pediatric patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Zhang et al. (2020) conducted a case report in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with restrictive phenotype, complete left bundle branch block, and intermittent third-degree atrioventricular block (n=1). Left bundle pacing was evaluated. Left bundle pacing successfully reversed complete left bundle branch block, narrowed the QRS complex from 175 to 154 ms, and prevented syncope recurrence over a 1-year follow-up in a 12-year-old girl with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
