VR simulators are considered useful for examining crane operation support systems and operator training in diverse outdoor environments. To enhance their effectiveness, it is necessary to make the visual information presented to the operator, including the crane's physical behavior, as close to reality as possible. This presentation discusses the development status of a crane VR simulator platform combining the high rendering capabilities of the 3D game engine Unreal Engine 5 with the high-precision physics simulation capabilities of MATLAB/Simscape, using a crawler crane as an example.
