Characterizes finite p-nilpotent groups through character restrictions, highlighting significant theoretical implications.
In this paper we give a characterization of finite p-nilpotent groups via character restriction of principal p-blocks to Sylow subgroups. As a consequence, we obtain a block version of DeMeyer's characterization of nilpotent groups. Also, we give a block version of the criterion of p-nilpotency of finite groups given by Liu and Yang.
