Urban flooding has emerged as a leading environmental concern on a global scale as a consequence of rapid urbanisation, climate change, and inadequate urban planning solutions. The evaluation of the dangers that are connected to urban flooding calls for the utilization of an integrated framework that establishes connections between urban structures, social systems, and hydrological processes. A framework for evaluating the risk of flooding in urban areas is presented in this research paper. The framework places an emphasis on the interdependencies that exist between spatial design, social vulnerability, and hydrodynamics. This framework focuses on particular configurations of urban form, land use, and population distribution that either significantly increase the risk of flooding or significantly reduce the risk of flooding. Through the incorporation of these elements, urban planners and policymakers are able to develop strategies for flood mitigation while simultaneously enhancing the resilience of urban areas. Hydrology, urban form, spatial vulnerability, systems theory, and disaster resilience are some of the keywords that are associated with urban flooding.
