On the Pathogenesis of the Uremic State

MY comments represent an effort to summarize some of the very recent observations that my colleagues and I have made regarding the impact of chronic progressive renal disease on the functional characteristics of the afflicted kidney and, in a broader sense, on the functional characteristics of the whole organism.
