The evolution of a system of point masses long after core collapse is studied using a gas model. A one-parameter sequence of near-homologous solutions is found, parameterized by a dimensionless rate of ejection of mass from the center. The central parts of all models closely resemble singular isothermal spheres. A value for the mass-loss parameter is found by assuming that the mass ejection is caused by three-body formation of binaries and their interactions with single stars. If these models can be applied to globular clusters, the time scale for their evolution is a few billion years.
