Purpose: The current study aimed to determine patients' expectations regarding care and treatment in an inpatient psychiatry clinic. Method: A descriptive qualitative research study was conducted. Data were collected between March 2022 and June 2023. A purposive sampling method was used, and 12 patients were interviewed. The Three Components of Insight Assessment Scale was used to evaluate patients' insight. Personal information and semi-structured interview forms were used for data collection. Results: Four main themes (and seven subthemes) were determined: Expectations of Recovery , Expectations of Health Service Presentation , Expectations of Health Personnel , and Expectations Concerning the Structured Environment . Conclusion: Health professionals should plan their interventions in accordance with patients' expectations. Hospital administrative units can configure the presentation of services considering patients' expectations of treatment in the inpatient psychiatry clinic.
