Acupuncture and moxibustion improved heart rate variability in qi-deficiency patients, with moxibustion demonstrating superior effects.
RCT
Does acupuncture or moxibustion improve heart rate variability in patients with qi-deficiency syndrome?
Moxibustion may be superior to acupuncture in improving autonomic nervous system activation as measured by HRV in patients with qi-deficiency syndrome.
p-value: p=>0.05
OBJECTIVE: -deficiency syndrome as well as their differences on the parameters of heart rate variability (HRV). METHODS: -deficiency assessment scale (QDAS) and HRV parameters before treatment, after 4th treatment and after all treatment. The correlation was analyzed between QDAS and HRV parameters, and HRV parameters were compared among the three groups before treatment, after 4th treatment and after all treatment. RESULTS: >0.05). CONCLUSIONS: -deficiency patients, which is superior in moxibustion. The possible mechanism is likely to be related with improved sustainable activation of autonomic nervous system.
Shu et al. (Thu,) conducted a rct in qi-deficiency syndrome. Acupuncture and moxibustion vs. Three groups compared was evaluated on Heart rate variability (HRV) parameters and qi-deficiency assessment scale (QDAS) (p=>0.05). Acupuncture and moxibustion improved heart rate variability in qi-deficiency patients, with moxibustion demonstrating superior effects.
