GRACE score accurately predicts in-hospital mortality in ACS with an AUC of 0.76.
Why the study?
Risk stratification tools are indispensable given the wide range of ACS clinical presentations, motivating validation of the GRACE score to predict in-hospital and 6-month post-discharge mortality.
Does the GRACE risk score predict in-hospital and 6-month post-discharge mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome?
Cohort (n=160)
No
Does the GRACE risk score predict in-hospital and 6-month post-discharge mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome?
Effect estimate: AUC 0.76 (95% CI 0.57-0.95)
p-value: p=0.014
This study evaluates the validity of the GRACE risk score for predicting in-hospital and 6-month mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Supports GRACE score for ACS mortality stratification; leaves open need for prospective outcome trials.

Neves et al. (2021) conducted a cohort in Acute Coronary Syndrome (n=160). GRACE Risk Score was evaluated on In-hospital mortality prediction (AUC 0.76, 95% CI 0.57-0.95, p=0.014). The GRACE risk score accurately predicted in-hospital mortality (AUC 0.76) and 6-month post-discharge mortality (AUC 0.78) in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
