Research addresses citizen participation in urban regeneration for sustainable development, indicating its social importance.
The present research addresses the socio-economic, energy and environmental issues in urban regeneration, thus aligning itself with the "European Green Deal" and with Spanish policies such as the “Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan”, which in turn includes "Housing Re habilitation and Urban Regeneration Plan". Given that the improvement of the existing urban fabric in Spain is still a work in progress, the normative and strategic framework is analysed, followed by an analysis of good practices for the degree of citizen participation, thus highlighting the importance of the social dimension in those urban revitalization processes.
