Scoping review examines the relationship between KPIs, care structure, processes, and clinical outcomes in diabetic foot ulcer management.
This protocol presents a scoping review on key performance indicators (KPIs) used in diabetic foot ulcer care programs. The study will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and the PRISMA-ScR guidelines to identify indicators related to quality of care, effectiveness, and clinical outcomes. Searches will be conducted in PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, and Scopus databases. Data will be analyzed according to Donabedian’s framework, considering structure, process, and outcomes. The review aims to understand how healthcare service organization influences clinical outcomes in individuals with diabetic foot ulcers.
