Interpersonal communication and its influence have been widely researched across various disciplines. Central to a substantial amount of this research is the question of identifying opinion leaders-those persons who tend to be interpersonal transmitters of information and influence to a greater degree than other persons in their social systems. This article seeks to expand the cumulative body of knowledge of interpersonal communication by examining how well selected characteristics predict male clothing fashion opinion leadership across three samples of respondents. We asked: (1) how well does a common set of characteristics explain variation in opinion leadership and (2) are there relatively stable predictors of male clothing fashion opinion leaders?
