Why the study?
How does 3D echocardiography compare to MDCT and 2D echocardiography for the morphological and functional assessment of the aortic root in patients with aortic stenosis?
How does 3D echocardiography compare to MDCT and 2D echocardiography for the morphological and functional assessment of the aortic root in patients with aortic stenosis?
3D transesophageal echocardiography is an excellent alternative to MDCT for evaluating the aortic root in patients with aortic stenosis, especially when contrast CT is contraindicated due to renal impairment.
May support 3D TEE as MDCT alternative when contrast contraindicated; leaves open prospective validation in aortic stenosis.
