As a scholar-activist, she has worked for over thirty years with schools and communities to disrupt the miseducation of Chicanx/Latinx students. She has published over thirty articles and chapters, and her most recent books include Transforming Educational Pathways for Chicana/o Students: A Critical Race Feminista Praxis (2017) and Chicana/Latina Testimonios as Pedagogical, Methodological, and Activist Approaches to Social Justice (2015).
