Creativity has been widely studied in a variety of contexts, yet it remains a somewhat elusive concept. This article examines creativity as it pertains to psychological functioning, and more particularly healthy psychological functioning. Although creativity overlaps with intelligence, personality, and cognitive style, it is not identical and so presents as a separate area of interest in understanding humans (Mellou, 1996). When one examines the concept of creativity, the implications for psychological health are important and interesting.
