Genome sequence assembly reveals extensive chromosomal structure in Eleocharis quinqueflora, indicating its genetic complexity.
<ns5:p> We present a genome assembly of <ns5:italic>Eleocharis quinqueflora</ns5:italic> (Few-flower Spike-rush; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Poales; Cyperaceae). The genome sequence has a total length of 497.06 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.66%) is scaffolded into 67 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial sequences have lengths of 1473.67, 252.35, and 274.68 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 201.9 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 26 711 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns5:p>
