We have evaluated the electron—phonon interaction parameter λ and the superconducting transition temperature T c for metallic hydrogen, based on APW band structure calculations and the theory of Gaspari and Gyorffy. These results strongly support the view that metallic hydrogen would be a high temperature superconductor.
