Engineering project develops extraction chromatography for effective minor actinides recovery from nuclear fuel, suggesting improved safety and efficiency.
Extraction chromatography technology has been developed for trivalent minor actinides recovery from spent nuclear fuel. Systematic studies on flow-sheet design, safety assessments, and system design of the technology have been carried out in a study project of 2019-2024 to increase the TRL up to 5. Currently, Further studies are ongoing in another study project started in 2024 for the realization of Green Transformation (GX). Achievements obtained in the first project, and recent activities in the current project are reviewed in this paper.
