Angle-resolved photoemission has been used to study the Si(111){}3 ×{} {}3 -In surface. Two occupied dangling-bond-derived surface-state bands have been found. The experimental results are compared with dispersions from pseudopotential calculations for the energy-minimized geometries of two different adatom configurations of the surface. The measured dispersions as well as the observed momentum distributions are found to be in good agreement with the calculations.
