Aortic reconstruction with a pulmonary homograft patch using full-flow body perfusion can be successfully performed in neonates with arterial tortuosity syndrome presenting with multiorganic failure.
May support homograft patch use in neonatal arterial tortuosity syndrome with multiorgan failure; leaves open need for larger prospective studies.
Arterial tortuosity syndrome (ATS) is an autosomal-recessive genetic connective tissue disorder that affects the aorta and medium-sized arterial vessels. 1 We report a case of successful surgical management of the descending aorta in a ten-day-old patient with ATS who presented with multiorganic failure. The aortic reconstruction with a pulmonary homograft patch was performed using full-flow body perfusion.

Kulyabin et al. (2025) conducted a case report in Arterial tortuosity syndrome (n=1). Aortic reconstruction with a pulmonary homograft patch was evaluated on Surgical success. Surgical management of the descending aorta using a pulmonary homograft patch was successful in a 10-day-old patient with arterial tortuosity syndrome and multiorganic failure.
