The antiferromagnetic S-domain structure of a NiO single k-domain platclet has been investigated by neutron magnetic diffraction topography. From the images obtained, it is possible to rule out ⟨110⟩ as the antiferromagnetic direction, and to infer that magnetic moments are along a direction close to ⟨112⟩. It is then possible to identify directly and unambiguously the sublattice magnetization in each domain.
