The dielectric constants and power factors of mixtures of calcium carbonate with Vistanex and with natural rubber were determined at 1 and 100 kilocycles per second. There was little difference between the values at the two frequenciel'. Two different formulas were found to express the dielectric constants of the mixtures as functions of the dielectric constants of the respective components. The dielectric constant of the pure calcium carbonate employed was determined by the method of liquid mixtures. The power factors of the rubber-calcium carbonate mixtures were intermediate between those of the components. The conductivities of the Vistanex-calcium carbonate mixtures measured at the end of 1 minute of electrification were intermediate between those of the components, but the conductivities of the mixtures of natural rubber and calcium carbonate seemed to go through a minimum.
