Women’s Mental Health in Bloom (WMHIB) 2026 was a landmark 24-hour global webathon held on 8 March 2026 under the auspices of the International Association for Women’s Mental Health (IAWMH), in collaboration with leading psychiatric organizations worldwide. The event brought together clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and lived-experience advocates across seven regions—Australasia, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Latin America—with nearly 2,000 participants. The programme delivered a continuous series of interdisciplinary sessions exploring six core themes: (1) perinatal, reproductive, and hormonal mental health; (2) gender-based violence, trauma, and safety; (3) leadership, systemic equity, and the gender gap; (4) mental health conditions, addiction, and clinical practice; (5) culture, community, and lived experience; and (6) technology, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. WMHIB 2026 highlighted the global and culturally embedded nature of women’s mental health challenges while showcasing diverse, context-sensitive responses. By integrating scientific evidence, clinical expertise, lived experience, and creative expression, the event fostered cross-regional dialogue and collaboration. The webathon demonstrated the feasibility and impact of an inclusive, continuous global educational model, reinforcing international commitment to advancing gender equity and prioritizing women’s mental health worldwide. It established a foundation for sustained collaboration and open-access knowledge sharing, positioning WMHIB as a catalyst for ongoing global action.
