This article formulates an economic order quantity (EOQ) model with item deterioration considering a weekend-influenced fluctuating demand structure. Usually, the demand for ration items becomes higher on Sunday than on other days of the week due to the holiday. Here, two separate demand rates for Sunday and other days of the week are considered. Traditional models are developed with constant demand and non-fuzzy parameters, but they never obey the uncertainties of real-life situations. To mitigate this in reality, we develop an intuitionistic parabolic fuzzy system to capture vague information on demand rates of an EOQ model. The fuzzy model splits into three models on the basis of fuzzy uncertainties of both demand rates. The model has been solved using the help of the score function. To validate the proposed approach, a numerical illustration has been discussed. Sensitivity analysis and graphical illustrations have also been analysed to show how various fuzzy parameters affect the model. The findings support the validity and stability of the suggested model in fuzzy systems, particularly where weekend demand peaks have a significant influence on supply choices.
