Investigates C1R polymorphism, highlighting allele distribution in Chinese individuals.
Polymorphism of C1R was investigrated in 216 unrelated Chinese individuals using isoelectric focusing and immunoblotting. Six phenotypes associated with three common alleles C1R*1, C1R*2 and C1R*5 were observed and no variant type was found. The allele frequencies were C1R*1 = 0.5463, C1R*2 = 0.3565 and C1R*5 = 0.0972. The population data conformed to the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The C1R polymorphism in Chinese was shown to be controlled by three common alleles, C1R*1, C1R*2 and C1R*5.
