Experimental study investigates phonon behavior around the antiferromagnetic transition temperature in MnBi2Te4, indicating significant spin-phonon interactions.
Raman spectra of MnBi 2 Te 4 magnetic topological insulator crystals have been experimentally studied at temperatures from liquid helium to room temperature. Features of the behavior of a phonon with the A_1g² symmetry in MnBi 2 Te 4 at temperatures below and above the antiferromagnetic phase transition temperature has been discovered and studied in detail for the first time. These features demonstrate the strong influence of the spin–phonon interaction with the magnetic degrees of freedom of the topological insulator on the frequency and intensity of the phonon.
