A suite of computer programs tailored to the analysis of steady-state evoked potential data in attentional shifting experiments is described. Stimuli are sequenced pseudorandomly while maintaining constraints on overlapping of response windows. Averages of phase-locked and non-phase-locked steady-state amplitudes are computed in variable-length epochs and corrected for the effect of sampling noise. Various algebraic and combinational transformations of averaged data are implemented. Several parametric and nonparametric statistical tests are implemented, and the results of these procedures are visualised. An application of this software has revealed modulation of a steady-state visual evoked potential by spatial attention. The software has been designed with portability in mind, and many of the programs are applicable to more general problems in evoked potentials.
