Data centres are essential to contemporary digital infrastructure but provide considerable energy and environmental challenges due to their substantial power usage. Incorporating renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into data centre operations provides a means for sustainable energy utilization. The sporadic nature of these renewable sources frequently requires dependable energy storage devices. This study investigates scalable energy storage technologies designed for data centres, emphasizing the equilibrium of energy supply and demand while maintaining continuous operations. The study explores many storage technologies, including improved battery systems, flywheels, and thermal storage, to identify solutions for ensuring continuous renewable power delivery. The findings intend to assist data centre operators and energy providers in adopting economical, robust, and eco-friendly storage systems, facilitating a more sustainable and energy-efficient digital ecosystem.
