Ramshaw [Phys. Lett. A 198 (1995) 119] has recently shown that if one considers the generalized entropy Sq≡k(1−∑ipiq)(q−1)(q ∈ R; q = 1 corresponds to standard thermostatistics) and the standard internal energy U1≡∑ipiϵi, then thermodynamic stability of the system is not guaranteed for all values of q. We show here that the (physically desirable) thermodynamic stability is restored if, instead of U1, one uses the (consistently) generalized internal energy Uq≡∑ipiqϵi.
