ABSTRACTABSTRACTThe need-satisfying characteristics of 10 commonly selected leisure activities were investigated. Scores on 33 of the 45 need-satisfiers studied were significantly related to the activity in which the respondent participated. Sex of the respondent, however, was not significantly related to scores on any of the 45 need-satisfier dimensions. The need-satisfier dimensions showing the greatest discrimination among the activities were Catharsis, Independence, Advancement, Getting Along with Others, Reward, Tolerance, Activity, Ability Utilization, and Exhibition.KEYWORDS: Needsreinforcersleisure satisfiersleisure satisfactionneed satisfiersleisure activitiesleisure-relevant needssex
