Abstract Digital education is the core driving force for the development of vocational education and reshaping the teaching form of vocational education. Role transformation is the core target of vocational college teachers under the background of digital education. Under the background of digital education, this paper analyzes the logic of the role transformation of vocational college teachers from the perspectives of theoretical logic, historical logic and practical logic. The new mode of ubiquitous learning, the old-fashioned educational concept, the shortcomings of digital ability, the cross-boundary integration and the fragmentation of teachers' practice hinder the transformation of vocational college teachers from instructors to learning designers. Given this dilemma, it is necessary to explore the path from the aspects of role advancement, concept reconstruction, ability upgrading and cross-boundary integration.
