ABSTRACT A new chronology for the Solutrean from Laugerie-Haute is proposed, based on the study of the lithic industries. After a short reminder of the historal background, the statistical results reveal a structuring of the Solutrean in three chronological fades: Proto-Solutrean, Early Solutrean and Late Solutrean, which leads us to re-examine the chronostratigraphy of this site. This structure is then confronted with other data from Aquitaine. The question of the development from the Gravettian to the Solutrean and from the upper Solutrean to the Early Badegoulian is then discussed, based on the typology and technology of the industries dated to between 22000 and 1 7000 BP in Aquitaine.
