Abstract

Since 2013, Black Lives Matter has emerged as a widespread social movement in the United States, with the prime objective of condemning and abolishing not just police violence against black people, but, more generally, systemic racism in the USA. As the hashtag #Black Lives Matter was going viral on social media, a huge political consensus was gathering, with unprecedented international visibility (Clestine Recoquillon 2020 ; Taylor 2016).
