Physician Shortage Reconsidered

THE December 3, 1959, issue of the Journal 1 commented on my views expressed before a Congressional committee on the requirements for physicians, which were out of step with the conventional belief that the impending shortage of physicians threatened to undermine the strong American system of medical services.
