Challenges passive pressure as primary driver of endo/epi flow; extends anatomical vascular gradient hypothesis yet leaves open human translation.
The study suggests an anatomical gradient of vascularity with decreased resistance in the inner layers of the left ventricular wall, rather than passive intraventricular diastolic pressure, primarily determines myocardial blood flow distribution when mechanical factors are absent.
