The observed magnetoresistance effects in low fields are used for an approximate estimate of the anisotropy of the Fermi surfaces of alkali metals. The elements appear to be arranged in order of increasing anisotropy as follows: sodium, rubidium, potassium, caesium, lithium. The Fermi surface in sodium is almost spherical. In lithium it is considerably anisotropic and it might even contact the Brillouin zone boundary.
