A simple and inexpensive degenerative electronic stabilizer which operates at ground potential in the primary a.c. line is described. Two such stabilizers maintain the current and voltage of a high wattage continuously pumped x-ray tube constant to about 0.1 percent. A low pass filter is used as a delay element in order to obtain high stabilization ratios without hunting. The operation of the stabilizer is not affected by 120-cycle a.c. components in the x-ray tube current, and transformer heating of the filament may be used.
