Abstraction vs insertion in O(1D)+H2→OH+H

Abstract

It is shown that in the reaction O(1D)+H2→OH+H, the total reaction cross sections are almost entirely due to insertion and the contribution to the total cross section from abstraction is negligible. (AIP)
