<ns3:p>OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to investigate and verify whether there are connections and differences between the sense of meaning in life and emotional intelligence among law and computer science students. MATERIAL: 171 people took part in the study, including 78 law students and 93 IT students. The average age of the students was 22.983.795. METHODS: We used two INTE questionnaires measuring emotional intelligence and MLQ which measure meaning of life. RESULTS: Emotional intelligence significantly and positively correlates with the sense of life in students. There was a difference between law and computer science students in the INTE level supporting thinking and acting (t = 2,35, p = 0,02), INTE emotional recognition (t = 2,28, p = 0,02), INTE total score (t = 2,74, p = 0,01), and in the MLQ level, the current sense (t = 2,53, p < 0,01). Law students had higher scores for the above - mentioned variables. The surveyed law and IT students did not differ in the level of searching for meaning (t = 0,52, p = 0,60). CONCLUSIONS: In terms of emotional intelligence and the sense of meaning in life, between law and computer science students, higher intensity of these features was noted in law students. KEYWORDS: emotional intelligence, meaning of life, law, information technology, student.</ns3:p>
