The adiabatic compressibility of methanol–water mixtures has been measured as a function of temperature and of alcohol mole fraction; the measurements were carried out at 10, 15, and 20 °C over the entire range of cosolvent concentration. A simple model, involving the solute–solvent interactions and the molecular aggregation of the solute, is used to explain the observed behavior.
