The Structures of Laboratory and Computer-Built Random Packing

A critical review of laboratory and computer built random packings is given. The structural differences between these models are analysed using the Voronoï polyhedron description. Special attention is paid to the problem of identifying the best variant of random packings for modeling amorphous alloys and isolated aggregates.
