Abstract

Limber but strong: Two-component mixed crystals of diarylethene derivatives exhibit reversible, rapid, and fatigue-resistant bending upon alternate irradiation with UV and visible light (see picture). The crystals showed reversible curling into a hairpin shape while remaining crystalline. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
